Consulting with Beth Alford-Sullivan
Culture is the part you can actually coach.
Beth Alford-Sullivan works with individuals, athletic departments, teams, conferences and companies on the parts of performance that never show up in a training plan — how a staff communicates, how a group holds together under pressure and how leaders get developed instead of just identified.
Why Beth: thirty-five years, and a framework underneath them.
-
Thirty-five years at the top of NCAA sport
More than 50 Coach of the Year honors. More than 300 All-Americans. Fifteen top-10 NCAA team finishes. She has built programs at every stop, including Stanford, Penn State, Tennessee and Connecticut.
-
A social work foundation
Beth trained in social work before she trained in athletics. That is where the framework comes from: how people behave under stress, how groups hold or fracture, and what genuinely moves someone. It is why the work travels outside sport.
-
First, more than once
In 2006 Beth became the first woman to lead a men’s Power 5 track and field program (Penn State University). In 2014, the first woman to lead a men’s program in any sport in SEC history (University of Tennessee). She has led rooms that had never been led by a woman before, and she knows exactly what that costs and what it takes.
